After the EP release “Burn This Bridge” with her band Bird Trouble from London, Maxie Melpomene is now writing and composing for her solo project.
Born in Leipzig, she moved to London in 2009 to follow her true passion – music. She studied songwriting at ICMP (The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance), where she was awarded the Most Improved Songwriter Award twice in 2011 and 2014. Until 2016, she worked intensively on her songwriting and collaborated as a singer with artists from all over Europe in a wide variety of genres.
Maxie Melpomene is a project of the heart, which is characterized by the individual resistances in life. The texts tell of toxic relationships, self-love and dealing with doubt, fear and loss. Her empathic way of thinking forms the DNA of her music, enabling her to view people and their world as a whole. Maxie Melpomene is an artist from the indie-soul-pop genre who creates her own autobiographical songs. Her unique selling points include her distinctive vocal color and her great emotional depth, which is reflected in the lyrics and brings her stories to life.
Maxie Melpomene combines a deep passion for storytelling and the traditional singer/songwriter experience in her music. Their music combines elements of pop, soul and folk to create a gripping sound that focuses on the essentials. In combination with her own lyrics, she creates goosebump moments that touch the heart deeply and invite the listener into a melancholy world.
Maxie Melpomene has lived in Leipzig again since 2016. After a long break, the debut EP “Heretofore” is now being created with dedication. The first single “Silent Waters Run Deep” will be available on YouTube from June 7, 2024, with a lovingly designed video. The official release on all streaming platforms will follow on June 21, 2024.
